How we work

One guide, one group, one night at a time

We cap groups at eight because nine is the number where a street-food stall stops being a conversation and starts being a queue.

Every guide lives in the city they lead. They are paid a flat day rate, not commission, which is the entire reason we can promise you will never be walked into a shop that pays a kickback.

What twelve hours actually looks like

17:30

Golden hour rooftop

We start high — a rooftop with a west-facing view, one drink, and twenty minutes to get your bearings over the skyline before the sun drops.

19:00

The eating street

Four stops, four dishes, one guide who knows which stall changed hands last month and which one to skip.

21:00

Water crossing

Every harbour city looks different from the water. Public ferry where there is one, chartered sampan where there is not.

22:30

The quiet quarter

Away from the neon: a lane of listening bars, a night temple, or a night market locals still use.

00:30

Last call, your call

The route formally ends. Your guide will point you at whatever is still open — or walk you to a taxi.

What people say after the last ferry

The two-yuan ferry was the best part of a four-thousand-yuan trip, which I think is exactly the point they are making.

Renata Oyelaran · Shanghai, November

Six of us, one guide, and he got us onto the last train with four minutes to spare. That is the whole review.

Tobias Lindqvist · Tokyo, April

I have been to Bangkok twice before and never once got on the river boat. Now I would not do it any other way.

Marisol Aguinaldo · Bangkok, January

Pick a city. We handle the dark.

Tell us which harbour and which month, and we will send a night-by-night plan within two working days.
