The route
Singapore’s night is engineered, and that is not a criticism — the light show over Marina Bay is genuinely well made. But it is fifteen minutes, and the city has more than that.
Afterwards we go to a hawker centre with no English signage and a forty-year-old stall that sells one dish. The contrast is the point of the evening.
